Chippewa County International Airport (IATA: CIU, ICAO: KCIU, FAA LID: CIU) is a public use airport in Chippewa County, Michigan, United States. It is located 15 nautical miles (17 mi, 28 km) south of the central business district of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. The airport is owned by the Chippewa County Economic Development Corporation. It was formerly the Kincheloe Air Force Base.
As per Federal Aviation Administration records, the airport had 13,269 passenger boardings (enplanements) in calendar year 2008, 13,173 enplanements in 2009, and 14,349 in 2010. It is included in the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2011–2015, which categorized it as a primary commercial service airport (more than 10,000 enplanements per year).
